Over the last couple of years, we have been stressing on the importance of switching to natural hair care products. Some of you have already made the switch and are reaping the benefits of Alyuva’s all-natural care & nourishment. But, some of you are still hesitant. While we understand the dilemma, we want you to make the right decision – and we feel telling you about the benefits of our herbal hair oil isn’t going to cut it. So today, in this blog, we will cover the benefits of the ingredients we use in our Herbal Hair Oil. Take a look below at the benefits of the 5 primary ingredients of Alyuva’s Herbal Hair Oil.
Shata Dhuata Ghrita
The term “Shata Dhuata Ghrita” is a Sanskrit word which means 100 times washed ghee or clarified butter. Cow’s ghee is washed a 100 times to obtain an ancient cream – Shata Dhuata Ghrita (a butter-like odourless silky cream) – with miraculous transformation properties. Shata Dhauta Ghrita is unbelievingly potent when it comes to repairing damage caused to the skin by pollution and sun-exposure. But, the use of the ancient cream in our hair oil is due to its ability to penetrate through all layers of skin. The silky cream acts as an excellent carrier, enabling hair oil formulation to penetrate through all the seven layers of the skin without blocking the pores. If you want to know more about the ancient cream, visit the Shata Dhuata Ghrita page.
Bhringraj
Bhringraj is one of the four important Ayurvedic herbs known for natural hair care. The herb has biological components including flavonoids, phytosterols, and coumestans, which help reduce pitta dosha, excess of which is believed to be the main cause of all hair problems including thinning and premature greying of hair.
- Bhringraj promotes healthy hair growth – size, density and natural strength of hair follicles
- Bhringraj also repairs the damages that lead to premature greying of hair
- Bhringraj powder provides nourishment and also acts as a natural conditioner for hair
Coconut Oil
Before we talk about Coconut oil, we want you to know that it’s a versatile health and beauty product which has been used in Ayurveda for ages. It is one of the key ingredients of almost all Alyuva products after Shata Dhuata Ghrita.
Talking about the use of coconut oil in our Herbal Hair Oil, Coconut Oil is made using lauric acid. These long and straight structures of lauric acid make it easy to be absorbed deep into the hair shaft. Needless to say, coconut oil in Alyuva’s Herbal Hair Oil helps the formulation reach the deep inside the hair shaft and nourish them from within.
Shikakai
Shikakai, like Bhringraj, is an important herb that has been in use for centuries. The herb helps the hair in the following ways.
- It acts as a hair cleanser and cleans hair effectively
- The herb possesses anti-fungal and anti-bacterial properties that help prevent lice and treat dandruff
- Provides nourishment to the hair and promotes healthy and rapid hair growth
- Moisturises the hair; prevents split ends, hair from getting brittle and greying.
Hibiscus
Hibiscus is a popular remedy for hair growth in Ayurveda. We use the herb in our Herbal Hair Oil for its extraordinary healing properties. Studies suggest that regular use of hibiscus or hair oils with the herb as an ingredient can help in the complete recovery from dormant hair follicles and bald patches.
Hibiscus can also help in the following ways
- Slowing down or completely stopping hair loss
- Promote hair health and add the natural lustre
- thicken hair and add volume
- treat dandruff
