Ubtan is a homemade skin cleanser and body scrub for babies as well as adults made with natural and herbal ingredients. Applying ubtan on your baby’s skin is a practice that has been followed for hundreds of years and is said to be beneficial as it:

• Nourishes the skin and keeps it healthy, as it contains nutritious ingredients like chicpeas, lentils, sandalwood and turmeric.
• It can be used instead of soap as an excellent skin cleanser.
• Ubtanis an effective natural exfoliant. It removes dead skin cells and makes the skin clear and smooth.
• Ubtanis supplemented with sesame and almond oils which keep the skin smooth and healthy by deeply moisturizing it from within.

Despite these benefits, it is still wise to consult your baby’s paediatrician before trying ubtan on your baby’s delicate, sensitive skin.

Caution:

Conduct allergy test before use. Start using ubtan on your baby only after 2 weeks of birth when the belly button is completely healed. Do Not use ubtan more than 2-3 times a week.

How to use:

Add a tea spoon of oil to about 50gm of the Ubtan powder. Add sufficient water or milk to make a smooth paste. Apply Baby Ubtan gently on baby's chest, arms, legs and back. On face, avoid area around eyes. Use very gentle and tiny strokes in circular motion to cleanse baby’s skin. Don't let the Ubtan dry too much on baby's skin. Wash thoroughly with lukewarm water or warm sponge bath.
